About Master Chess

Master Chess is a strategic two-player board game. In this game, you have to compete against two types of opponents. Firstly, you can play against any person around the world. Second, and the most important, is the AI robot. The AI algorithm is designed tactically. Beating the AI opponent seems to be simple, but that’s not as easy-peasy as you are thinking. It can use such moves that will get stuck at the start of the game. So, you have to play strategically to defeat your AI opponent. But the interesting thing is that if you keep on playing Master Chess against the AI, it will help you learn the tactics used by the AI. So, whenever you appear in a global competition against any person, you can utilize those techniques and win in one go. So, let’s go. Your AI competitor is waiting for you on Poki.

Skill-Based Game Features

Game Rules

Players in the game move their pieces on an alternate basis. The first move starts with the white piece. The basic rule of the game is to checkmate the opponent’s king to capture it. To win the game, you must control the center of the chessboard so the opponent’s pieces cannot move towards your king. Protect your king at all costs.

Types of Chess Pieces

The chessboard has a total of 16 pieces. There are six unique pieces in the game. These are of strategic importance.

  1. King
  2. Queen
  3. Bishop
  4. Rook
  5. Knight
  6. Pawn

Strategic Movement of Pieces

The crucial part is that the 6 unique pieces should be moved strategically and technically to win the game. They have more defined movement than the other pieces. The King can move in any direction in one square. That Queen moves straight and diagonally. Rook moves horizontally and vertically. The Bishop can only move diagonally. Knight moves in an L-shaped direction and can also jump over the other pieces. Pawn moves diagonally.

Game Modes

There are two Game modes:

  • Play against the AI robot
  • Play against the global player

Worldwide Opponents

The game features worldwide opponents for its players. That means, if you open the game and click on the globe sign, the game will connect you with a player who has also joined the game and wants to play with a human competitor. It will first ask the names of both players. After entering the name, you will be directed towards the chessboard where the other player will be waiting for you.

Difficulty Levels

There are three difficulty levels when you play the game with your AI competitor.

  • One Star: Easy mode
  • Two Stars: Medium mode
  • Three Stars: Difficult mode

Start with the easy mode to understand the game dynamics. Proceed forward to the three stars after you master the easy and medium modes.
